Join us for a full hour of non-CE education on the following topics: Real-world data and Clinical trial diversity.  Both topics will last approximately 30 minutes each.  This will be a virtual zoom session with Pfizer representatives.

Understanding the Methodology and Value of Real-World Data and Real-World Evidence

Real-world data (RWD) are information relating to patient health status and/or the delivery of healthcare collected outside of randomized clinical trials (RCTs).

Fundamentals of RWD – Katie Tellor & Phil King

  • Describe how RWD are used to generate RWE
  • Name the main sources and types of RWD used to generate RWE
  • Understand the design of studies and frameworks for the evaluation of RWE

Clinical Trial Diversity

Race, ethnicity, age, and sex can all impact how different people respond to the same medicine or vaccine. This is why diversity among clinical trial participants is so important. The more diverse a group of clinical trial participants is, the more we can learn about the safety and efficacy of a potential medicine or vaccine for people now and in the future.

Clinical Trial Diversity – Megan Myers and Brian Lee

  • Describe clinical trial regulation, monitoring, and oversight
  • Understand the changing demographics of America and how it impacts disparities in health outcomes
  • Name the challenges of clinical trial diversity and state why diversity in clinical trials is important

NOTE: If you are registered for the 2022 Spring Meeting, you are already, you do not need to register for this

You must register to get the zoom information if you are not registered for the spring meeting.
